Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants…Lifeboats in the Stormy Sea of Healthcare
In recent years there has been an increasingly shorter supply of primary care physicians. Far too few physicians are graduating from medical school and entering the health care arena, and of the primary care physicians currently in practice, more and more are leaving primary care to practice in higher paying specialties.
Because of this, the potential for lower standards of health care and longer wait times for appointments are almost certain, without the help from two very important types of medical professionals, namely Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
